Dental VeneersTransform your smile using dental veneers so that you can enter the New Year with confidence.  A beautiful smile can directly impact how you feel about yourself and how others perceive you.  While most adults don’t like their smile, it can be corrected with cosmetic dentistry.  You are no longer stuck with the smile that you were born with so regardless of what you want to be corrected, we can help.To get started, schedule a consultation so that we can examine your teeth and discuss what you want your smile to look like.  Here are some of the ways we can improve your smile:
  • Close gaps in between your teeth
  • Make yellow teeth a brilliant white
  • Cover dark stains that won’t go away
  • Restore cracked teeth
  • Correct chipped teeth
  • Straighten teeth
  • Make them uniform in size and shape
  • Replace missing teeth
As a cosmetic dentist, we regularly recommend that patients use dental veneers to transform their smile.  A veneer is a thin shell that is made of ceramic or porcelain and is secured to the front of teeth. Even though it is thin, it can accomplish most of the things mentioned above, except for replacing a missing tooth.  The process typically takes only a couple of weeks to complete, so even if you are in a hurry, veneers are a good solution. To get started, we will make an impression of your mouth.  This is used by a dental lab, in combination with our instructions, to create veneers in the right shade, shape, and size.  Working with an experienced lab technician is important for getting natural looking veneers so it can take around two weeks for them to be ready.  During this time, your teeth will be prepared by removing around a millimeter of enamel from their surface. In order to keep you comfortable during the procedure, we will use sedation dentistry.  We will also secure temporary veneers to the surface of your teeth using water-based glue that is designed to come off.  The temporaries will protect your prepared teeth while the permanent ones are being created.  It is normal to feel some sensitivity during this time, so we recommend eating foods that are soft and easy to chew.Once the permanent set has been created, you can come back to our dental office to have the temporaries removed.  We will then place the permanent ones on your teeth so that you can see how they look.  If you want any adjustments made, let us know.  Afterwards, we will bond the dental veneers to your teeth which will change their appearance permanently.Patients love how quickly this procedure can be done and the dramatic results that it produces.  Since no surgery is required, the recovery time is minimal and within a few weeks you can eat your favorite foods like normal. If one of your New Year’s resolutions will be to improve your appearance, start now by getting veneers and love your smile again.
